Karnataka Bandh on March 22: Will KSRTC and BMTC Buses Operate?
Karnataka Bandh: A statewide bandh has been declared in Karnataka on March 22, following an attack on KSRTC staff by Marathi groups in Belagavi. Pro-Kannada organizations, led by activist Vatal Nagaraj, have called for the bandh to condemn the assault and demand strict action against those responsible.
Reason for the Bandh and Key Demands

The protest was triggered by an incident where Marathi miscreants smeared ink on the faces of KSRTC bus conductors and drivers and also physically assaulted them. Pro-Kannada activists have urged the government to take strict action against the culprits and ensure that such incidents do not recur.
Support from KSRTC and BMTC Employee Unions
The bandh has received support from transport employees, including those from KSRTC and BMTC. Chandru, president of the transport employees' union, confirmed their participation. "Last month, a transport worker was attacked. We stand in solidarity with the pro-Kannada activists who condemned the incident. KSRTC and BMTC workers fully support the Karnataka bandh," he stated.
However, no official announcement has been made regarding metro services on the bandh day. Travelers are advised to plan accordingly, as transport disruptions are expected across the state.
