Kannada Actor Sanjjanaa Galrani Walks Free As Karnataka HC Declares Drug Case Invalid

Kannada Actor Sanjjanaa Galrani has received relief from the Karnataka High Court, which has quashed the alleged drug-related case against her. in connection with Kannada film industry's ongoing drug racket case.

Galrani was arrested on September 8, 2020, by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) in connection with the case. She later approached the court seeking relief, leading to the latest ruling.

Justice Hemanth Chandangoudar, presiding over the case, observed that the petitioners could not be tried for earlier alleged offences without separate FIRs being registered. The court deemed the continuation of criminal proceedings as an abuse of the legal process.

Considering these factors, the court ruled in favor of Galrani, allowing the petitions and quashing the proceedings against her.
