Nagabhushana's Car Hits A Couple, Woman Killed; Actor Arrested: Pics From Accident Spot

Kannada actor Nagabhushana has been arrested by the Bengaluru cops after his car hit a couple on the Vasanthapura Main Road on Saturday evening.

The deceased has been identified as 48-year-old Prema while her husband 58-year-old Krishna's condition is critical. The car bearing registration number KA 09 MG 5335 hit them when they were walking on a footpath.

The actor was heading towards Konanakunte from Uttarahalli around 9.45 pm. The accident occurred in the Kumaraswamy Police Station limits.

Reports have claimed that he took the injured people to the hospital. While Prema died during the treatment, her husband is battling for life. Oneindia has got access to the couple's photo and pictures from the spot.

The actor has been arrested and he is expected to be produced before the court shortly.

The cops have confirmed that the actor was not drunk at the time of the incident. "Have sent his blood sample for an alcohol test. With our breath analyzer device, we didn't find traces of alcohol," India Today quoted Shiva Prakash D, DCP Traffic South, as saying.

A case has been filed for reckless and rash driving under IPC Sections 279 (rash driving on a public way), 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), and 304(A) (causing death by negligence) after the victim's son Partha lodged a complaint.

"I work at a company and my parents stay with me. On September 30 around 10 pm I was on Kanakapura road when I got a call from a person staying in my apartment. He told me that my parents have met with an accident. They said that a car hit them both," Hindustan Times quoted Partha as saying.

"I went to the hospital. The doctors said that my mother's face and head were severely injured. She died on her way to the hospital," he added.
