K'taka: Why BJP MP missed Union Minister Nitin Gadkari's event

Bengaluru, Dec 29: A split between factions of RSS and the BJP came to fore on Dec 15, 2015 at RSS run school Sri Rama Vidhyakendra at Kalladka in Dakshina Kannada.

A MP from Dakshina Kannada of Karnataka, who heads a BJP faction in his constituency, Nalin Kumar Kateel missed a grand event organized by the school run by RSS, and which was attended by a Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.

The sources in the RSS say Nitin Gadkari's arrival to the program was kept secret as to keep the MP in darkness.

A crack that was long standing has now widened. For the starters, Dakshina Prantha Samparka Pramukh of the RSS, Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, who is believed to be the godfather of Nalin Kumar Kateel was miffed with Nalin after allegations against MP's character was surfaced in 2014

Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat is a prominent and controversial name in the state of Karnataka. He is considered as one of the top RSS think tank of the state.

It could be pointed that Prabhakar Bhat was behind elevating this small party worker Nalin Kumar to the post of MP during 2009 general elections. In 2014 elections when allegations were leveled against the character of sitting MP, Prabhakar Bhat advised Nalin to stay away from the fray.

However defying the instructions of Bhat, Nalin approached another top faction of the RSS lead by National Joint General Secretary (organization) BJP, B L Santosh to secure the coveted ticket.

Nalin managed to secure the ticket. Henceforth Nalin switched loyalty and is working under the orders of B L Santosh. Santosh and Prabhakar Bhat is commonly known as enemies in the Sangha Parivar. Both top leaders have nurtured their own fan bases in the RSS.

MP misses Gadkari's event

A popular RSS school, Sri Rama Vidhyakendra that is running under the supervision of Prabhakar Bhat recently organized a program, Kreedotsva (sports day celebration) that was attended by Union Minister and RSS pet man Nitin Gadkari on Dec 15.

As there were rumors of Gadkari's arrival spread, the MP initiated full frontal efforts to thwart the arrival of the minister to the program to avenge Prabhakar Bhat, informed RSS sources.

Learning the development Prabhakar Bhat launched a counter startegy to ensure that Gadkari accepts the invitation there by attend the program. The sources close to Bhat said "Nalin made all effort to stop Gadkari" adding that "Bhat finally decided to make all the arrangements in concealed manner to defeat Nalin's effort."

On a day, when Gadkari finally put his appearance in Sri Rama Vidhyakendra in the night hours after finishing sessions, MP was shocked to learn the development.

The RSS sources say that Nalin Kumar who earlier tried to join BJP presidential fray faced second internal defeat. One, with former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa readying to return to state politics another with his strategy to avoid Gadkari's coming to Kalladka going in vein.
