According to weather forecasts, intense rainfall is expected in districts like Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Kodagu, Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, and Belagavi on Friday and Saturday. In view of student safety and road conditions, discussions are underway to grant leave for schools and colleges on July 11 and 12.

While no official circular has been issued as of Wednesday evening, district administrations have been placed on high alert. Sources suggest that a decision may be made late Thursday depending on rainfall intensity and ground reports from local authorities.

This isn't the first time Karnataka has considered rain-induced holidays. Last year, multiple districts saw school closures during the monsoon season following similar IMD alerts.
