JDS Files Complaint Against Darshan Female Fan For Linking Kumaraswamy To His Arrest

The JDS has formally lodged a complaint against a woman, reportedly a fan of actor Darshan, at the KR Pete Town Police Station in Mandya. The complaint alleges that she linked the party's state president and union minister, HD Kumaraswamy, to the actor's arrest.

Janaki Ram, a leader of the JDS, filed the complaint against a woman named Mangala. Among her accusations, she claimed that HD Kumaraswamy was involved in Darshan's arrest and insinuated that he secured the Mandya seat for contesting because of Sumalatha. Additionally, she alleged that the JDS brought people to protest against Darshan by paying Rs 150, and she used derogatory language against the union minister.

In another development, Darshan, along with his friend Pavithra Gowda and 15 others, has been arrested by the Bengaluru Police in connection with the murder of Renuka Swamy, who had sent obscene messages to him.

However, HD Kumaraswamy has stayed away from the controversy and refused to add fuel to the fire. Even his son Nikhil has refused to react stating the matter is being investigated by the authorities.

Renuka Swamy was abducted by Darshan's associates on June 8 from Chitradurga and taken to Bengaluru, where he was severely assaulted at a shed owned by Darshan's uncle in Kamakshi Palya. He later succumbed to his injuries, and his body was disposed of in a drainage near Sumanahalli. Subsequently, 17 individuals were arrested based on evidence from call detail records (CDRs) and CCTV footage.

Meanwhile, a Bengaluru court has extended the police custody of actor Darshan and three others by two days, while the remaining thirteen accused, including Pavithra Gowda, have been remanded to judicial custody for 14 days.
