Hubballi Bandh: BJP And Muslim Organisations Demand Justice For Neha Hiremath
BJP and Muslim organisations called for a state-wide bandh in Hubballi on Monday to condemn the killing of Neha Hiremath, a college student. A silent protest march will be taken out to seek the highest punishment for the accused Fayaz.
Karntaka BJP president BY Vijayendra took to the social media platform X, urging BJP workers to pause their election efforts and take to the streets on Monday. He emphasized the importance of addressing issues such as cruelty against girls, blasphemy, and attacks on national figures amid the election frenzy. Vijayendra highlighted the tragic killing of Neha Hiremath in Hubballi as a particularly brutal incident, calling for a thorough investigation from all angles by the police, as demanded by the public.

In a critique of the ruling Congress, Vijayendra accused the government of downplaying the incident and suggested that the government's priorities lie in appeasing minorities rather than addressing issues within Hinduism.
Meanwhile, Muslim organiSations, represented by Dharwad-based Anjuman-e-Islam President Esmail Tamatgar, announced plans for a protest to condemn the heinous incident and offer condolences to the victim's family. Tamatgar stated that a bandh would be observed, with various establishments such as chicken shops, garage workshops, fruit vendors, banks, and institutions remaining closed as a mark of solidarity and to mourn Neha's death. Additionally, he mentioned that 'Justice for Neha' stickers would be displayed at their establishments.
