Green Line Namma Metro Back On Track After Rajajinagar Metro Station Technical Snag
The Green Line services of Namma Metro, running between Yeswantpur and Mantri Square Sampige Road stations, faced a disruption due to a technical snag at Rajajinagar Metro Station, leading to inconvenience for passengers. However, the service has now been fully restored.
At 4.57 pm, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) announced via X (formerly Twitter),"Normalcy of Metro Services on Green line is restored from 15.40 Hrs. Metro Commuters may kindly note.''

Earlier in the day, BMRCL had earlier said,''Namma Metro commuters may kindly note . Train services on Green line will be available between Nagasandra to Yeshwanthpur and Mantri Square - Sampige Road to Silk Institute Metro stations due to a technical snag at Rajajinagar Metro Station . Inconvenience caused is regretted."
According to BL Yashwanth Chavan, BMRCL's chief public relations officer, the disruption occurred when an emergency recovery road-rail vehicle experienced a breakdown between the Rajajinagar and Mahakavi Kuvempu Road Metro stations, affecting train operations. These specialised vehicles are typically used for train recovery and maintenance work.
Chavan stated as quoted by moneycontrol, "We are actively working to clear the vehicle and restore normal train services. In the meantime, we are operating on a single-track system with reduced frequency in the affected section. Operations on other segments of the Green Line and the Purple Line (Byappanahalli-Kengeri and Whitefield-KR Pura) are unaffected."
Following the long weekend, which included Eid e Milad on September 28, a Karnataka bandh on September 29, as well as Saturday and Sunday, and Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, several commuters at locations like Yeswantpur railway station faced significant inconveniences. The Green Line stations, particularly Yeswantpur, saw heavy crowds due to the service disruption.
Officials from the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation confirmed that they had increased the number of buses running between Yeswantpur Metro/railway station and Majestic to mitigate the disruption of Metro services on the Green Line.
