Gold Smuggling: Dubai, Geneva And Now South Africa? Explosive Details in Ranya Rao Case

Fresh details continue to surface in the gold smuggling case involving actress Ranya Rao. It has now been revealed that the smuggling operation was not limited to a Dubai-Geneva route but also extended to South Africa. Two accused in the case have been sent to jail, while the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) continues to unravel new layers of the syndicate. Official records from statements given to the DRI have now come to light.

Tarun Kondur, one of the accused, admitted to smuggling 4 kg of gold on one occasion and 2 kg on another. He confessed that he used his passport at Dubai airport to transport the gold into India. In his official statement, Tarun admitted to his involvement in the smuggling operation.

Further investigations have revealed that this case is more complex than just a Dubai-India smuggling route. The gold was first transported from South Africa to Dubai. Then, under the pretense of transferring it to Geneva, the gold was moved within the airport and eventually sent to India. Tarun Kondur Raju, who recorded a statement regarding these operations, also obtained permissions from the Home Ministry to travel to South Africa.

It has been discovered that Tarun initially transported gold to Viera Diamond Company, which he established in Dubai. From there, he used an American passport to smuggle the gold through the airport and into India. Once the gold arrived, Ranya allegedly retrieved it from the airport and transported it into the city using official protocol.

The DRI believes this case involves a larger smuggling syndicate, and further arrests may be imminent. Meanwhile, all eyes are on the 64th CCH court, which is expected to issue Ranya's bail order today. It remains to be seen whether she will walk free or remain in jail.
