Geologist Prathima Murder Case: Former Car Driver Kiran Taken Into Custody As Revenge Angle Explored

A day after the tragic discovery of Prathima KS, an officer in the Mines and Geology Department, found dead at her residence in Doddakallasandra, the police have reportedly taken her former car driver, Kiran, into custody. According to reports, Kiran was recently dismissed from his position by Prathima, and it is suspected that he may have carried out her murder as an act of revenge, as per TV9 Kannada.

Initially, three men were detained in connection with the case, but during the interrogation, Kiran emerged as the prime suspect in Prathima's murder.

According to police sources, Prathima had experienced issues with her former driver, Kiran, leading to her recent decision to terminate his employment. She had subsequently hired a different individual as her driver.

The suspicion is that Kiran harbored resentment towards Prathima and may have committed the murder as an act of vengeance, as reported by TV9 Kannada. Following the necessary procedures, the police are expected to formally arrest Kiran and present him before the court. However, the police have yet to issue an official statement regarding the case.

Prathima was strangled and had her throat slit between Saturday night and Sunday morning, with her lifeless body discovered on Sunday morning when her brother, Prathish, visited her residence.

Residing alone on the first floor of an independent building, Prathima leaves behind her husband and a 12-year-old son, who live in Thirthahalli in the Shivamogga district.

An FIR has been lodged at Subramanyapura Police Station, and three specialized teams have been established to apprehend the suspect(s) in the case. The absence of missing valuables from the house has led investigators to suspect that the murder may have been premeditated.
