From Hair Trimmer To Prasad: What Bengaluru Commuters Forget In Their Uber Rides
Delhi has the highest rate of forgetfulness among travelers. Mumbai follows closely behind in second place, with Bengaluru in third, according to Uber's 2024 'Lost and Found Index'. Hyderabad and Pune round out the top five most forgetful cities.
The survey reveals that the most commonly forgotten items in Ubers across India are phones, bags, wallets, and clothing, followed by utility items like water bottles and keys. Riders have also forgotten accessories such as spectacles and jewelry.

Interestingly, the survey notes that unique items such as a Ukulele, a coin collection, prasad, and a hair trimmer have also been left behind. Some riders have even forgotten important documents such as passports, bank papers, and business documents in their Ubers.
The data shows that riders are most likely to forget their belongings on Saturdays, particularly in the evening around 7 pm. Additionally, Apple devices are the most commonly lost items during festive periods like Diwali.
Nitish Bhushan, Head of Central Operations at Uber, commented, "We've all experienced that sinking feeling when we realize we've left something behind in a cab. With Uber, riders have the option to attempt retrieving their lost items by following a few simple steps in the app. We value the trust riders place in us each time they take an Uber ride, and we want to remind them of the steps they can take to retrieve their lost items."
