Former Karnataka Lokayukta Justice Rao gets bail

After the Karnataka High Court dismissed his plea to quash the chargesheet against him, Justice Rao appeared before a special court at Mayo Hall.

The Lokayukta special court on Monday granted bail to Former Lokayukta Justice Bhaskar Rao. Justice Rao is accused of misusing his official powers.

After the Karnataka High Court dismissed his plea to quash the chargesheet against him, Justice Rao appeared before a special court at Mayo Hall. Justice Rao's counsel filed a petition seeking bail following which the court granted granted him interim bail.

Justice Rao has been accused of allowing his son to use the office of Lokayukta for extortion. His name features as accused number 4 in the chargesheet filed by a special investigating team. His son Ashwin Rao and then Lokayukta PRO Syed Riyaz are prime accused in the case.
