Financial irregularities: FIR filed against Ananth Kumar's wife

A complaint was filed by Mallana Jiglur, a former member of the BVVS, who accused Tejaswini and the others of indulging in financial irregularities and lack of transparency in the financial procedures undertaken to buy an institute in Bidadi near Bangalore named the Amrutha Institute of Technology. The district court asked the Bagalkote Police to submit a report on the complaint and the FIR was subsequently filed on July 19.
Tejaswani Ananth Kumar, however, said she did not have any copy of such FIR. “ We were taking care of Amruta institute for four years. We had taken loans to run the institute. Then I had no time so we requested BVVS who was looking to start a college in Bangalore to take care of the college,” an India Today report quoted her as saying. The Union minister, too, said that he was not aware of such things and called it to be an episode which was politically motivated.
This is the second instance within a month which has put the BJP in a spot in Karnataka. A few days ago, Railway Minister and former Karnataka chief minister Sadananda Gowda's son Karthik was accused of cheating and raping a local model-actor. He was granted anticipatory bail later.
