Exclusive: Meenakshi Lekhi says AAP a reincarnation of Congress

Bangalore, Feb 8: Addressing women from across the world BJP spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi on Friday shared words of encouragement and also spoke about women's rights at the International Women's conference organised by the Art of Living.

In an exclusive interview with OneIndia, Lekhi spoke about the misgovernance of AAP and how the AAP and the Congress are hand in glove with each other. Following are the excerpts-

OneIndia: Recently AAP leader Madan Lal came out and claimed that he was approached by someone from the BJP, someone who was close to Arun Jaitley, your thoughts on the same?

Meenakshi Lekhi: That is all nonsense. Madan Lal happens to be a lawyer. If somebody happens to make a call of this nature, first thing you'll do is to make a phone call to the police. He should've tapped the number and got the information about the same. No such thing has happened.

He is unable to give the name and number of that person who has made that statement, he's unable to give any description. His own leader, Mr Kejriwal has said that whenever someone offers you a bribe, take it and do a sting operation on that person. Why did Madan Lal not do it?

Lies don't have feet, Madan Lal said on Dec 7 he got a call, on Dec 8 the result of Delhi assembly came out. Before Dec 8 he was not even a MLA, why would anyone make a call to him.

OneIndia: Everyone says that UP is the biggest game changer. How do you see that as a challenge?

Meenakshi Lekhi: Across the country, down south may also be a game changer for us. Down south also the reception for Narendra Modi is huge. You may get certain results which people are not even thinking of.

OneIndia: How is the AAP and the Samajwadi Party going to affect the BJP in Uttar Pradesh?

Meenakshi Lekhi: They are non- exsistent. The Delhi game is a different thing altogether and the reason is that there was a lot of material for the AAP. AAP are touts of the Congress. I say, AAP is re-incarnated Congress party. In 2005, according to India Against Corruption website, Arvind Kejriwal stated that Mrs Gandhi had written a letter to the government of India saying that he should not be transferred outside Delhi.

They are full of gimmicks this imaandaar party. Ashok Khemka was honest who had to experience 44 transfers in 15 years of service. In 20 years, Kejriwal was not transferred?

OneIndia: When Nirbhaya was raped people protestsed wearing the white topi. Rapes still continue to happen but the topis have disappeared. Your thoughts on that.

Meenakshi Lekhi: Forget that. Delhi's Law Minister Somnath Bharti broke the laws and behaved in the same way as Devyani Khobragde was treated. He did the same with the Ugandan women. Isn't he a racist? Somnath Bharti is a racist. In addition to that that topi they staged a dharna before 26 January disrupting the Republic Day parade practise. They are disruptionist.

Yogendra Yadav was an adivsor to Rahul Gandhi. They (AAP) all have have their roots coming from 10 Janpath.

OneIndia: On Thursday the AAP submitted a report against the CWG scam. However Sheila Dikshit was not named in the FIR? What do you have to say about that?

Meenakshi Lekhi: This is also a political move. Anybody can be sacrificied for 10 Janpath. It is in that context that all this is going on because they want this to be an election propaganda. And working on that they are indulging in half-hearted measures. If this was the thing, why did the AAP form the government with Congress's support.
