Ernakulam-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express In 9 Hours from November 8: Check Timings and Route

The Ernakulam–Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express is set to commence operations on November 8, significantly reducing travel time between the two cities. This high-speed train will complete the journey in just 8 hours and 40 minutes, cutting over two hours from the current travel duration. It will connect key hubs across Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate this service via videoconferencing from Varanasi, his parliamentary constituency. The launch marks a significant milestone for South India's rail network. Alongside this route, three other Vande Bharat Express trains will also be flagged off: Banaras–Khajuraho, Lucknow–Saharanpur, and Firozpur–Delhi.

Route Details and Schedule

The KSR Bengaluru–Ernakulam Vande Bharat Express will make stops at major cities such as Thrissur, Palakkad, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, and Salem. This service aims to cater to professionals, students, and tourists traveling between these regions. The inauguration ceremony will be live-streamed at various stations along the route.

According to a Railway Board notification issued recently, train number 26651 KSR Bengaluru–Ernakulam Junction Vande Bharat Express will depart Bengaluru at 5.10 am and reach Ernakulam Junction by 1.50 pm. The return journey on train number 26652 will leave Ernakulam at 2.20 pm and arrive in Bengaluru at 11 pm.

Expansion of Semi-High-Speed Network

This new service is part of a broader national expansion of the semi-high-speed rail network in India. With its introduction, Kerala gets its first inter-state Vande Bharat train directly linking it with Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Under Southern Railway's jurisdiction, there are now 12 pairs of Vande Bharat Expresses operating.

The launch event is expected to draw participation from passengers, students, elected representatives, and dignitaries at stations across Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, and Salem. This initiative is seen as a boost for connectivity in the region.
