Ejipura Flyover: Service Roads Planned To Ease Traffic Congestion During Construction

Bengaluru South City Corporation (BSCC) K.N. Ramesh has directed officials to develop service roads along the Ejipura Flyover corridor to ease traffic congestion and ensure smoother movement of vehicles during the ongoing construction work.

The direction was issued during an inspection of the flyover project near Kendriya Sadan and St. John's Hostel on Thursday. The commissioner reviewed the progress of the long-pending project and assessed traffic conditions in the surrounding areas.

Officials said the proposed service roads are aimed at reducing inconvenience to commuters and improving connectivity while construction continues. Traffic management measures are also being planned to prevent bottlenecks on key stretches, including Madiwala Main Road and the Ejipura-Madiwala corridor.

During the inspection, Ramesh instructed officials to prepare an action plan to regulate vehicular movement and provide alternative routes wherever necessary during the construction phase.

The commissioner also directed officials to submit a request to St. John's Institution regarding land required for the project. Representatives of St. John's Hospital assured authorities of their cooperation in facilitating the flyover work.

The Ejipura Flyover is expected to significantly improve connectivity between key parts of southeast Bengaluru and reduce travel time for commuters once completed. Until then, civic authorities are focusing on service road development and traffic management measures to minimise disruption in the busy corridor.
