Ed Sheeran’s Church Street Performance in Bengaluru Ends Abruptly as Police Intervene
British singer Ed Sheeran delighted fans in Bengaluru with an unplanned performance on Church Street on Sunday morning. Without any prior notice, the global music icon began singing on the footpath, drawing a large crowd within minutes. However, as the gathering swelled, Bengaluru Police intervened to manage the situation.

Unaware of Sheeran's identity, on-duty officers asked him to stop performing due to a lack of prior permission. In a now-viral video, an officer was seen unplugging the microphone while Sheeran was still singing.
The Bengaluru City Police addressed the incident, emphasizing their respect for artists while underscoring the need for prior authorisation for public performances that draw large crowds. An official stated, "Our priority is the safety of both the artist and the public. Unauthorized gatherings can create significant challenges in crowd management and security."
