e-Khata Online: BBMP To Launch App For Bengaluru Property Owners Soon
Following the digitization of khatas for 2.1 million properties citywide, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) is preparing to launch an app that will allow Bengaluru property owners to apply for e-khata from the convenience of their homes.
Currently, BBMP is in the process of digitising an additional 100,000 khatas, enabling individuals to submit applications for new khatas through the app or online portal, thereby eliminating the need to visit BBMP revenue offices. The app will also provide property owners with the ability to request updates or corrections to their khata records.

BBMP staff are actively mapping the GPS locations of properties throughout the city, which has become mandatory for property identification. Chief Commissioner Tushar Giri Nath highlighted that the Palike is enhancing its online services to create a faceless and contactless experience for users.
Draft e-khatas are already available for download at https://www.bbmpeaasthi.karnataka.gov.in/. To apply for an e-khata, property owners must submit Aadhaar e-KYC, the property's GPS coordinates, a photo, registration documents, an encumbrance certificate dated from April 1, 2004, and the Bescom RR number.
For those lacking any required documents, assistant revenue offices are on hand to provide assistance. Additionally, property owners can file objections to e-khata issuance within seven days, which will be reviewed by revenue officers, as noted by Giri Nath.
