E-Khata: BBMP Opens New Khata Online Registrations for 10,000 Property Owners
The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has introduced an online facility for property owners who do not have a BBMP Khata to apply for one. This initiative aims to streamline the process and ensure transparency in property records.
According to Munish Moudgil, Special Commissioner of Revenue, individuals without any BBMP Khata, including those with only handwritten records, can now participate in this online campaign to create a new BBMP Khata. Applicants must submit an official request through the designated portal to obtain a municipal account.

However, BBMP has cautioned that those who already have an existing account and wish to obtain an e-account should not attempt to create a new one. Strict actions, including criminal cases, will be taken against individuals attempting to register fake accounts.
For those without a e-Khata, applications can be submitted online at BBMP's official website (BBMP.Karnataka.gov.in/NewKhata). The process requires the submission of key documents, including an Aadhaar number, sale/registration deed number, a property photo, and a property encumbrance certificate. The application must be completed at least one day before the sale/registration date and on or after October 31, 2024.
To assist applicants, BBMP has provided a step-by-step guide via a YouTube video. The instructional video can be accessed here, explaining the process for obtaining a new BBMP account.
