Duronto Express derails in Karnataka, 2 dead
New Delhi, Sept 12: Two persons have died and 7 others injured when Duronto Express derailed at Martur near Kalburgi Karnataka. The train between Hyderabad and Pune derailed near Kalburgi early this morning.
According to initial reports, two persons have died in the accident while 7 others are injured. The deceased persons are two ladies from Hyderabad.
The cause of the accident is not known as yet. Reports suggest that 9 coaches of the train derailed. 7 AC, 1 pantry and one power coach have derailed.
The injured persons have been shifted to a nearby hospital. Relief work is on in full swing. Officials have rushed to the spot and are overseeing relief work. The cause of the accident is being investigated.
