D K Ravi death: Fresh order for CBI probe issued

Bengaluru, April 6: The government of Karnataka has issued a fresh notification directing the CBI to probe the D K Ravi case. However this notification is minus the three month condition which the CBI had objected to and asked for a fresh order to be issued. [Did the CBI make up excuses?]

Earlier the CBI had told the government of Karnataka that it was ready to probe the case provided there were no pre-conditions. The government of Karnataka in its order issued two weeks back had directed the CBI to complete the probe in three months. [DK Ravi's death: Conditions by Karnataka govt irk CBI]

New order has no conditions:

Barely a few hours after the CBI wrote to the state government, a new notification was already issued. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said he wanted the CBI to take over the probe into the case. The Home Department of the state government issued a fresh notification immediately in which it is stated that a CBI probe is being ordered.

However in the new notification there is no mention about any time frame. This means that there is no time frame for the CBI to either take up or complete the probe. Following this order and provided the Home Ministry in Delhi approves of it, the CBI could commence its probe into the D K Ravi case.
