Darshan Jail Viral Photo: Will Another Case Be Filed Against Kannada Actor?

In the wake of the controversy surrounding a photo of jailed Kannada actor Darshan smoking a cigarette and holding a coffee mug alongside history-sheeter Wilson Garden Naga and other accused in Parappana Agrahara Central Jail, as well as a viral video call with history-sheeters Dharma and Satya, another case is expected to be filed against Darshan for allegedly receiving VIP privileges in prison.

The police are considering filing a complaint at the Parappana Agrahara police station, and senior officers are awaiting further instructions. Seven jail officials have already been suspended for failing in their duties.

Potential defendants in the new complaint could include Wilson Garden Naga, Kulla Seena, Darshan's manager Nagaraj, Market Dharmaraj, and Satya. If filed, the complaint could bring serious charges against Darshan and might result in his transfer to a different prison.

Additionally, there are suspicions that information about the CCB police raid at Parappana Agrahara Central Jail early on Saturday was leaked beforehand. Despite the raid, the CCB police returned empty-handed, raising questions about what they actually found in the jail, as inmates reportedly had mobile phones inside.

The privileges afforded to Darshan in jail have sparked a debate and served as a wake-up call for the government and relevant authorities.
