Darshan Back On Devil Sets: 274 Days After Arrest In Renuka Swamy, Challenging Star Resumes Shoot In Mysuru
After 274 days since his arrest in Renuka Swamy murder case and 133 days after getting bail, Kannada actor Darshan on Wednesday joined the shooting of his upcoming movie Devil.
The actor offered prayers at the Chamundeshwari Temple before joining the shooting. He will be taking part in a four-day shooting schedule in Mysuru, where key scenes are being filmed at the Government Guest House and Lalitha Mahal Palace.

Renuka Swamy Murder Case
The Challenging Star was arrested on June 11, 2024, in connection with the murder of Renuka Swamy, who was allegedly killed by the actor's aides for sending inappropriate messages to Darshan's friend, Pavithra Gowda. The incident led to the arrest of 17 individuals, including Darshan and Pavithra, after Swamy's body was discovered in a drainage in Kamakshi Palya.
Darshan spent 274 days in custody before being released on bail 133 days ago.
Devil Halted After Darshan's Arrest
The shooting for Devil had been put on hold following Darshan's arrest. Until now, the production team had been filming scenes that did not require his presence. With his return, the team is working at a brisk pace to complete the project. The movie was supposed to hit the screens in December 2024, but his arrest has forced the makers to push the release.
Huge Security
To ensure a smooth shooting process, the production team has reportedly spent approximately Rs 1.64 lakh on security and law enforcement arrangements. A total of 32 police personnel have been deployed on-site, with 10 officers assigned per shift to maintain order during the filming.
However, the movie is expected to hit the screens, later this year.
