Congress' List Of Candidates For Karnataka: Here Are The Names & Constituencies

The Congress has released the names of 16 candidates who will be contesting in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Karnataka will vote in two phases - April 26 and May 7.

In the of 16 candidates, notable names include Satish Jarkiholi's daughter Priyanka Jarkiholi contesting from Chikkodi, Ramalinga Reddy's daughter Sowmya Reddy from Bangalore South, Shivanand Patil's daughter Samyukta S Patil from Bagalkot, Laxmi Hebbalkar's son Mrinal Ravindra Hebbalkar from Belgaum, and Eshwar Khandre's son Sagar Khandre from Bidar.

In addition to it, Mansoor Ali Khan, son of former Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha K Rahman Khan, and Prabha Mallikarjun, wife of Minister S S Mallikarjun, are nominated by the party for Bangalore Central and Davangere constituencies, respectively.

In Gulbarga (Kalaburagi), Radhakrishna Doddamani, Kharge's son-in-law, will be contesting. Kharge, who won the seat in the 2009 and 2014 Lok Sabha elections, faced defeat in 2019.

Prof M V Rajeev Gowda, currently serving as the Vice-Chairman of Karnataka State Policy and Planning Commission, will be running for the Bangalore North constituency.

Among other candidates in the second list are M Laxman (Mysore), Vinod Asooti (Dharwad), G Kumar Naik (Raichur), Padmaraj (Dakshina Kannada), Jayaprakash Hegde (Udupi-Chikmagalur), K Rajashekar Basavaraj Hitnal (Koppal), Anjali Nimbalkar (Uttara Kannada), and B N Chandrappa (Chitradurga).
