Caught On Cam: Man Bites Cop For Stopping Him For Not Wearing Helmet

In a shocking incident, a man was caught on camera biting the finger of a cop after he was stopped for not wearing a helmet. The Incident was caught on camera.

The accused has been arrested and identified as Sayyad Safi. He is a resident of BTM 1st Stage.

As per police reports, the incident occurred between 11:30 am and 12 pm on Monday. The suspect was riding a two-wheeler with the registration number KA 05 LN7938, according to a report in the Deccan Herald.

As he wasn't wearing a helmet, head constable Siddarameshwara Kaujalagi took a photo of the rider with his mobile phone. This irked the man, and questioned the officer about the reason for taking his photo. In the heat of the moment, he tried to grab the mobile phone.

Kaujalagi, along with another officer, chased Safi and successfully apprehended him. "The suspect intentionally parked his scooter to obstruct the traffic and began shouting," the daily quoted the traffic police as saying in a statement.

He added, "When he was asked to park on the side, the suspect abused Kaujalagi, quarrelled with him and threatened that he would set a kiosk on the Wilson Garden on fire."

The man was then arrested and a case was filed at the Wilson Garden police station under sections 392 (punishment for robbery), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

On X, Bengaluru Traffic Police said: "This incident happened today at around 12pm in Wilson Garden Traffic PS limits. A Contactless case for No Helmet violation was being booked using FTVR (mobile phone used by traffic constable). The violator snatched the mobile phone. When stopped, he assualted and bit one of the traffic constables. Criminal case has been booked against the violator and he has been arrested."
