Hoax Bomb Threat Sparks Panic At BMS, MS Ramaiah, And BIT Colleges In Bengaluru
In a concerning development, BMS College, MS Ramaiah College, and BIT College in Bengaluru received bomb threats on October 4 (Friday), triggering panic across the campuses. The email stated that bombs had been planted in the college premises, however, after thorough investigations by bomb disposal teams and dog squads, the threats were determined to be hoaxes. The colleges are located in Sadashivanagar, Hanumantha Nagar, and Basavanagudi.
The bomb detection units, including the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), were called in to search the areas. Investigations are ongoing to trace the source of the threat. Following a thorough investigation, it was determined that the bomb threats were hoaxes.

According to reports, the Bangalore Institute of Technology (BIT), BMS College of Engineering in Basavanagudi, and MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology in Sadashivanagar received a bomb threat via email around 1 PM.
Bengaluru South DCP Lokesh said that the bomb disposal squad, along with other specialized teams, is actively working to verify the threat. A case has been filed at Hanumanthnagar Police Station to trace the origin of the threat.
This incident follows a similar scare earlier in the day when the prestigious Taj West End hotel, located on Racecourse Road, also received a bomb threat via email. The hotel's front desk staff promptly alerted the High Grounds police, who, along with the BDDS, conducted a thorough search of the hotel premises. The threat was later declared a hoax, easing tensions.
Police officials have assured that they are taking these threats seriously and conducting detailed investigations to ensure there is no compromise on public safety.
