BMTC Stabbing: Sacked BPO Employee Planned Attack On Ex-Boss, Assaulted Conductor

A 25-year-old man who stabbed a BMTC bus conductor is suspected of carrying the knife with the intent to attack his former boss, according to police.

Harsh Sinha, originally from Jharkhand, stabbed the conductor, Yogesh, after being asked to move away from the bus's middle doors for safety reasons.

A senior police official told Deccan Herald that Sinha had been carrying a kitchen knife while wandering the city, looking for his ex-boss, whom he planned to kill after being fired on September 20. The officer explained that the altercation with the conductor triggered the attack.

"He was unemployed and uncertain about his future. He feared that his former boss might harm his job prospects and prevent other companies from hiring him," the officer said.

Yogesh, the bus conductor, was taken to a private hospital and is reportedly in stable condition.

On October 1, Sinha boarded a BMTC Volvo bus around 5:15 pm and stood near the middle doors. Concerned for his safety, Yogesh, 45, asked him to move aside. Offended, Sinha allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Yogesh in the stomach.

The Whitefield police have arrested Sinha for attempted murder and are investigating the reasons behind his dismissal.

After the stabbing, Sinha reportedly attempted to stab other passengers, causing them to flee. The bus driver, Siddalingaswamy, locked the doors and jumped out, leaving Sinha inside. Sinha then allegedly grabbed a hammer and began vandalizing the bus.
