BMRCL Pays Tribute To Aparna Vastarey, Voice Of Bengaluru's Namma Metro

Aparna Vastarey, a celebrated anchor and actress in the Kannada entertainment industry, has passed away after a two-year battle with lung cancer. Her sudden death has deeply saddened the Kannada film industry and beyond.

Condolences have poured in from various quarters, including Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and other dignitaries. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) also mourns her loss, expressing profound sorrow at the departure of Aparna, whose voice became synonymous with Namma Metro announcements.

Recognised for her acting prowess and distinctive narration style, Aparna rose to fame as a host on Chandana Vahini in the 1990s. Her voice graced radio and TV programs, reality shows, and public transport announcements, including those for Bangalore Metro and several bus stations. Her gentle and captivating voice left an indelible mark on all who heard it.

Describing her loss as irreplaceable, the Metro Management Board acknowledged that Aparna's melodious voice will forever resonate within Namma Metro.

''She has the honour of conducting so many Namma Metro programs. Her command over kannada language and pronunciation were both mesmerizing. Her voice in Namma metro trains is forever alive. Namma Metro misses her in all our future endeavours. May her Soul Rest in Peace,'' BMRCL wrote.

Aparna's demise leaves a void in the Kannada community, and her contributions to entertainment and public transport will be cherished for generations to come.
