BMRCL Cancels Extended Namma Metro Timings On May 23
The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has announced a key update regarding the schedule of Namma Metro services. The extended metro service, originally planned for Friday, May 23, 2025, has been cancelled.

In an official message shared on social media, BMRCL clarified that the late-night metro operations, which were to run until 1:30 am on May 23, will no longer be available. The change comes after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shifted the scheduled Indian Premier League (IPL) match from Bengaluru to Lucknow.
The match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), originally set to take place at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, has been relocated to Lucknow due to the forecast of rain. This decision follows the cancellation of the RCB vs Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) match in Bengaluru the previous day, which was called off because of heavy rainfall.
BMRCL had earlier announced extended metro services on the Purple and Green lines until 1:30 am on IPL match days to facilitate easier commutes for fans. However, with the match on May 23 no longer happening in the city, the special service extension stands withdrawn.
Despite the cancellation of the extended hours, BMRCL confirmed that regular metro services on the Purple and Green lines will continue as usual.
