Bengaluru: Bike ambulances launched to save lives
Bengaluru, April 15: The Health department of Karnataka state government by giving priority to save the life of needy patients has launched two-wheeler ambulances in the city.
The bike ambulance project "platinum ten minutes" trauma care initiative of state government has been launched with an aim to reduce deaths due to road accidents. ['Live' Heart flown in from Bangalore to Chennai transplanted successfully]
According to the project, the department had launched 21 bike ambulances in order to reach out to patients in emergency situations.

A medical kit containing 40 medical items will be in the vehicle. Meanwhile, the state government has spent nearly Rs 2 lakh on each of the bike ambulances.

These emergency bikers will be most helpful to render its service to the poor patients in the huge traffic snarls of Bengaluru.
The project will be implemented through GVK EMRI emergency services.
The call centre of GVK EMRI after knowing the location and condition of the patient will decide on the type of facility to be provided for the patient.
A medical kit containing 40 medical items will be in the vehicle. Meanwhile, the state government has spent nearly Rs 2 lakh on each of the bike ambulances.
The bike will be driven by a trained paramedic.
Presently, around 40 paramedical staffers have been trained to provide service instantly.
The service of bike ambulance will be available also in Mysuru, Mangaluru, Kalaburagi, Belagavi, Hubballi-Dharwad, Davanagere, Tumakuru, Vijayapura and Shimoga districts.
