Former Bigg Boss contestants Vinay Gowda and Rajath Kishan were arrested under the Unlawful Arms Act, or formally known as the Arms Act, 1959 after a video surfaced of them holding and swinging a machete. The duo was taken into custody on the morning of March 24 and released later that night on notice. However, their legal troubles are far from over, as they have been summoned for further questioning.

Following his release, Vinay Gowda took to Instagram Stories and wrote, "New day, new beginning."

Reel Video Sparks Controversy

Vinay Gowda and Rajath Kishan aka Bujji are contestants in the reality show Boys vs Girls. After the show ended, they filmed a reel video where they were seen holding and swinging a machete. While they had mentioned in the caption that it was merely a set property, allegations arose that the mace used in the video was real. As a result, the police arrested and interrogated both contestants.

Take a Poll

The police were skeptical of the claim that the mace was a set prop. They confiscated it for further examination. Late at night, both Vinay and Rajath were released and sent home after being issued a notice. However, they have been asked to appear for questioning on March 25 and March 26 at 10:30 AM.

Although the initial suspicion was that the mace was a real weapon, subsequent examinations reportedly confirmed that it was made of fiber. This has raised questions about why it took authorities until midnight to verify its authenticity. The investigation is ongoing.
