Bengaluru's Namma Metro To Introduce Mobile QR Group Tickets For 6 Passengers Starting November 16
To enhance the travel experience for groups and families using Namma Metro, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) is introducing a QR group ticketing system to eliminate long queues at metro station ticket counters. This new feature will be operational from November 16.
Currently, mobile QR tickets are issued via mobile applications (Namma Metro, Paytm, WhatsApp, and Yatra) for individual passengers on their journeys. However, responding to demand, BMRCL is extending the mobile QR ticketing option to accommodate families and groups of up to six passengers starting November 16.

Officials stated that mobile QR tickets come with a 5% discount on the token fare. A single QR ticket, encrypted with the number of passengers, will be provided to the passenger utilizing this service. For usage, this QR ticket needs to be scanned once for each passenger during entry and exit.
Passengers are encouraged to pre-book mobile QR tickets for the convenience of their homes or offices to avoid queues at ticket counters for token purchases, added officials.
