Bengaluru's Freedom Park Is Ready With Multi-Level Parking Complex, Set To Open On June 20
Due to the increasing number of vehicles on the India's Silicon city roads, parking has become a major concern for commuters in Bengaluru. The city's densely populated areas like Majestic and Vidhan Soudha are particularly struggling with parking space. However, a solution to this problem is expected soon with the inauguration of a multi-level parking complex near Freedom Park in the heart of Bengaluru, scheduled for June 20.
The parking complex incorporates highly advanced parking technology and will offer free pick-up and drop facilities to those parking their vehicles. The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) had constructed the parking complex at a cost of ₹80 crores in 2021. Despite inviting tenders seven times for its operation, no one showed interest until now.

For the eighth time, the BBMP has invited tenders, and a joint venture between Prince Royal Parking Solutions Business Private Limited and Omnitec has emerged as the winner. The joint venture will operate the parking facility for a period of 10 years, paying the municipality an annual fee of Rs 1.50 crores.
The pay-and-park complex can accommodate 600 cars and 750 bikes, according to BBMP Chief Engineer B.S. Prabhala. "We are excited to finally have a solution to Bengaluru's parking woes," said Prabhala.
The three routes are:
City Civil Court, KR Circle, Vidhana Soudha, MS Building, and High Court of Karnataka
Pothys Circle, Chickpet metro station, BVK Iyengar Road, TCM Royan Circle
Pothys Circle, Upparpet police station, Majestic Bus Station, and KSR Bengaluru (City) railway station
The civic body plans to open the facility on Thursday along with a free pick-up and drop in facility are operational on these routes. A fleet of vehicles will run along three routes every 15 minutes to provide easy access to the complex.
The new multi-level parking complex will offer a range of amenities to make commuting more convenient for citizens. Some of the amenities include:
- Free Wi-Fi
- Car spa
- Restrooms
- Drinking water
- EV charging
- Coffee shop
- Wheelchair accessibility
- SOS and ambulance services
It must be noted that the parking facilities are currently available at several locations across the city, including City Civil Court, KR Circle, Vidhana Soudha, MS Building, High Court, Potise Circle, Chikkapet, Cubbon Park Metro Station, Sangolli Rayanna Railway Station, among others. Free pick-up and drop facilities are operational on these routes.
With its advanced technology and amenities, the new parking complex is expected to ease the parking woes of Bengaluru citizens and provide a convenient and comfortable experience for commuters.
