Bengaluru's Double-Decker Flyover On Namma Metro Lines Opens From June 15
After several delays, Bengaluru's first double-decker flyover has finally been completed. The 3.3 km road flyover, spanning from Ragigudda to Central Silk Board (CSB) along the Yellow Line (RV Road-Bommasandra), links South Bengaluru and the IT hubs of Whitefield and Electronics City.
The flyover features two levels: the lower deck is eight metres above the ground and will be used for automobiles, while the upper deck is 16 metres above the ground and will be used for the metro line. The structure is expected to provide direct access to Electronics City, HSR Layout, and BTM Layout, reducing traffic congestion during peak hours.

Initially, vehicular movement on the flyover will be limited to one side from Ragigudda to CSB, but this is expected to commence on or after June 15 following a final inspection by authorities. Five loops and ramps are being constructed at the CSB junction, with the A, B, and C ramps expected to be completed and operational in June, and the D and E ramps slated for completion by June 2025.
According to BMRCL Chief Public Relations Officer B L Yashwanth Chavan, the A, B, and C ramps are expected to be completed and operational in June, with the D and E ramps slated for completion by June 2025, as reported by Money Control.
The flyover is an innovative road-cum-metro structure that will become a signal-free corridor. This means that vehicles from Ragigudda will be able to cross CSB without a signal and reach towards HSR Layout and Hosur Road.
Initially, both stations were planned to be integrated, but due to a 355-metre distance between them, BMRCL proposes a travelator for easy access, ensuring seamless connectivity for commuters.
The project was initially supposed to be finished in October 2021, but was delayed due to various reasons.
