The incident occurred on Thursday around 9.40 pm when the victim was traveling from Rajajinagar to Majestic on Namma Metro. Allegedly taking advantage of the crowded conditions, the accused, identified as Lokesh, inappropriately touched her.

Initially, the software professional ignored the incident, but upon realizing the intentional actions of the accused, she confronted him and raised an alarm. When the train reached Majestic station, the accused tried to escape, but security personnel and fellow passengers apprehended him.
The victim and other passengers appealed to the authorities to detain him. Security officers Puttamadaiah and Diwakar managed to catch the accused and handed him over to the Upparpet police.
Police investigations uncovered that the accused had a history of such offenses. Previously, he had been caught stealing a mobile phone from a young woman on a city bus. The police recovered 20 mobile phones and a two-wheeler from him.
Last month, a Reddit post brought to light a disturbing incident of sexual harassment experienced by a woman on the Bengaluru Namma Metro. The account, shared by a friend of the victim, details how the woman was groped by a man amidst the crowded morning rush hour.
The incident reportedly took place at the Majestic Metro station around 8:50 am on November 20. The victim, who typically commutes by bus, had opted for the metro that day. As she navigated the bustling crowd, a man, identifiable by his red shirt, allegedly initiated unwanted physical contact, leaving her feeling shocked and violated.
