A woman in Bengaluru has accused a Rapido bike taxi driver of sexual harassment during a ride on November 6. The incident occurred in the city's central area and gained attention after she shared her ordeal on social media. Her post quickly drew responses from both the Bengaluru Police and Rapido, highlighting the seriousness of the situation.

In her account, the woman mentioned booking a Rapido ride to return to her PG from Church Street. During the journey, the driver allegedly attempted to touch her inappropriately. "The captain tried to grab my legs while riding. It happened so suddenly that I couldn't even process it, let alone record it," she wrote. She was too scared to jump off as she was unfamiliar with the area.

Upon reaching her destination, a passerby noticed her distress and confronted the driver. Initially apologetic, the driver then made a threatening gesture before speeding away. The woman shared, "I'm sharing this because no woman should have to go through something like this — not in a cab, not on a bike, not anywhere." She felt compelled to speak out despite having faced similar situations before.

The Bengaluru City Police responded promptly to her post, requesting her location and contact details for further investigation. Rapido also addressed the issue publicly, stating their concern over the driver's inappropriate conduct. They assured that safety and comfort are their top priorities and requested time to investigate thoroughly.

Investigation and Outcome

A few days later, the woman provided an update expressing gratitude towards both the police and Rapido for their support. "Thank you everyone for your concern… Rapido team and even the police team have been helping me. I have been finally proven right because they checked the footage," she wrote, relieved by their assistance.
