Bengaluru Wilson Garden Blast: 1 Dead, 12 Injured, Houses Collapse After Suspected Cylinder Explosion

At least one dead, 12 people are feared injured following a LPG cylinder blast in Chinnayanpalya near Wilson Garden in Bengaluru, on Friday morning. The powerful explosion caused the roof and walls of the first floor of the affected house to collapse, while shockwaves damaged more than 3 surrounding houses. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Adugodi police station.

Preliminary reports by the Adugodi police suggest a suspected cylinder leak as the cause of the blast. According to officials, the control room received a distress call at 8:25 am, and two fire tenders were dispatched within a minute, at 8:26 am.

The deceased has been identified as Mubarak (8). Officials confirmed that seven of the injured are in critical condition and are receiving treatment at nearby hospitals.

The explosion reportedly led to the collapse of three houses in Chinnayanpalya near Wilson Garden, trapping several residents.

Senior police officers and fire safety teams are at the site conducting an initial assessment of the damage. The area has been cordoned off, and an investigation is in progress to determine the exact cause of the blast.
