Bengaluru Weather: Will It Rain Today? Check Latest Forecast For Karnataka In The Next 24 Hours

Heavy rain is likely to lash coastal, Malnad and south interior regions of Karnataka including Bengaluru in the next 24 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Thursday.

The IMD has issued a yellow alert for the districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Mandya and Mysuru.

In the coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi, and in the Malnad districts of Chikkamagaluru and Hassan, isolated heavy rainfall is likely. In the south interior districts of Mandya and Mysuru, scattered moderate rainfall is likely. In the remaining parts of the state, widespread light to moderate rainfall is likely.

In Bengaluru, the sky is likely to be generally cloudy with the possibility of light to moderate rain in the evening or night. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 26 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to be around 18 degrees Celsius. For the past few days, there has been little to no rain in the city despite a slight reduction in cold. Additionally, the temperature has been relatively high. Now, there are possibilities of widespread rain due to weather changes.

The city was covered in fog from Thursday morning. Post-noon, there have been reports of rain in various parts of Bengaluru including Koramangala, Dairy Circle, Banaswadi, Hebbal, Yelahanka, Vijayanagar, Hampinagar, Jnanabharathi, Kengeri, Vidyaranyapura, Hebbal, Nagawara, Whitefield, and Kadugodi."

On Wednesday, Udupi district received 4 cm of rainfall, while Honnavar, Manki (both in Uttara Kannada district) received 3 cm, Mangaluru and Kumta (both in Uttara Kannada district) received 3 cm, Udupi and Kundapura (both in Udupi district) received 2 cm.

Karwar and Yellapur (both in Uttara Kannada district) received 2 cm, Kammaradi (Chamarajanagar district) received 2 cm, Hunchadakatte (Shivamogga district) received 2 cm, Balehonnur and Jayapura (both in Chikkamagaluru district) received 2 cm, Puttur HMS (Dakshina Kannada district) received 1 cm and Kalasa (Chamarajanagar district) received 1 cm.
