Bengaluru Weather Alert: Light Rain Showers Expected To Hit Garden City From December 12 To 14
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bengaluru anticipates a spell of light to moderate rains to grace the city between December 12 and 14. This weather pattern is attributed to a developing low-pressure system over the south-east Bay of Bengal and its neighboring east equatorial Indian Ocean. Expected to intensify and move west-northwest in the next 24 hours, this system will likely reach the south-west Bay of Bengal near the Sri Lanka-Tamil Nadu coasts by December 11.

According to IMD Bengaluru's scientist C.S. Patil, Bengaluru might witness light rainfall on December 12. The city is also poised for light to moderate rainfall on the subsequent days, December 13 and 14. This forecast comes in the aftermath of continuous rainfall that the city experienced last week due to Cyclone Fengal, which also led to a noticeable drop in temperatures across Bengaluru.
Weather Impact Across Karnataka
The IMD's forecast isn't limited to Bengaluru alone but extends to various parts of Karnataka. The south-interior regions of the state are set to receive light to moderate rains at many places, with the possibility of heavy rainfall at isolated locations on December 12 and 13. Similarly, coastal Karnataka is expected to experience light to moderate rainfall at isolated places, with chances of heavy rains at certain spots on December 13. This weather activity is predominantly influenced by the aforementioned low-pressure area and the cyclonic circulation, indicating a significant spell of rainfall across the state.
