Bengaluru Water Supply Cut Alert: Check List Of Affected Areas, Timings
Residents of Bengaluru are in for a challenge as parts of the city are likely to experience water supply disruptions on Thursday and Friday (June 5 and 6). According to the Times of India (TOI), the water supply will be cut due to ongoing work on the Cauvery Stage V Project. The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BSWWB) has announced that all its pumping stations will be closed down on June 6.
Affected Areas and Timings

The water cut was initially scheduled for June 4 and 5, but has been rescheduled for 12 hours from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm in areas supplied by Kaveri - stages 1, 2, and 3. Areas receiving water supply from Kaveri 4th stage 1st and 2nd phases' units will face a four-hour water cut from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Residents are urged to use water wisely during this two-day maintenance period and secure sufficient amounts for their essential needs. This temporary disruption is necessary for the upkeep of the water supply system.
It's essential to note that this is not a water shortage, but a periodic disruption necessary for maintenance. Bengaluru has recently faced a water crisis, with several areas experiencing severe water scarcity through April and May. However, the Karnataka government has taken steps to address the issue, introducing penalties for wasteful water practices and implementing measures to conserve water resources.
