Bengaluru Water Cut on September 15: BWSSB To Halt Cauvery Supply For 60 Hours, Check Affected Areas

Bengaluru water cut alert: The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has announced Cuvery water supply disruption from September 15 to 17, as all pumping stations will undergo a scheduled 60-hour shutdown for emergency maintenance and infrastructure upgrades.

Cauvery Pumping Stations to Shut Down

According to BWSSB, pumping stations under Cauvery Stage V will be shut down from September 15 to 17 for emergency maintenance. Additionally, Phase-1 and Phase-2 pumping stations of Cauvery Stages I, II, III, and IV will also undergo scheduled work from 6 am on September 16 to 6 am on September 17.

Reason for Shutdown

BWSSB Chairman V Ram Prasath Manohar said the maintenance work is being carried out to ensure the smooth functioning of pumping stations and major pipelines, which are crucial for sustained water supply across Bengaluru.

Areas Affected

All areas dependent on the Cauvery project for drinking water supply will be affected. Citizens have been advised to store sufficient water in advance and use it judiciously during the disruption period.
