Bengaluru: Transport Department on enforcement drive
Bengaluru, Sept 4: In continuation to the enforcement drive (held over the week), the Bengaluru Transport Department (Urban-Rural) headed by Joint Commissioner- Narendra L Holkar, the Deputy Commissioner and other staff members from different states would be participating in checking vehicles in various pockets of the city.
The staff members conducted a check on vehicles at Dairy circle, Koramangala, HSR Layout, in Bengaluru.
"During the drive, private vehicles and buses were checked and approximately 100 vehicles were seized," the Joint Commissioner Narendra L Holkar said to OneIndia.
Private vehicles carrying the name board of government departments were also booked and removed. They were also charged with heavy penalties.
The drive checked for air and noise pollution, fixing of sun films and non payment of tax by the non-Karnataka registered vehicles. The defaulters were booked and charged with penalties.
Holkar added,"we are conducting this drive to check the owners from violating the RTO norms".
