Bengaluru Traffic Alert: ORR Service Road Closed for 45 Days for Metro Work

The Bengaluru Traffic Police have announced a temporary closure of a section of the Outer Ring Road (ORR) service road. This is to facilitate metro construction by the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL). The affected stretch, between the 9th Main Road Junction and the 5th Main Road Junction, will be closed for 45 days starting from 6 October.

To minimise disruption, vehicles heading from Ibblur towards Silk Board Junction are advised to take alternative routes. Motorists can either use the 14th Main Road flyover and continue along the main carriageway to reach the 5th Main Road Junction or divert through HSR Layout's internal roads towards Silk Board and Hosur Main Road.

Traffic Management Improvements

In another development, Bengaluru is set to benefit from a new signal synchronisation initiative aimed at improving traffic flow in central areas. Anoop A. Shetty, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic West Division), shared a video on X showcasing this system. It covers key stretches like JC Road near Townhall Junction, NR Junction, PS Junction, and Police Corner Junction.

Shetty explained that this synchronisation allows motorists to experience uninterrupted movement with green signals at consecutive junctions during non-peak hours. He described it as a positive step towards enhancing Bengaluru's traffic management and reducing delays.

Traffic officials have urged commuters to adhere to diversion plans and cooperate with authorities during the construction period to avoid congestion. This cooperation is crucial for ensuring smooth traffic flow while construction activities are underway.
