Bengaluru Traffic Alert: Hebbal Flyover Closed Overnight For 5 Days, New Routes Suggested
The Hebbal flyover will remain closed for three hours daily-from 12 midnight to 3 am-starting today until May 21, the Bengaluru Traffic Police announced. The closure is due to ongoing infrastructure work being carried out by the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA).
The stretch from Esteem Mall to Baptist Hospital will be off-limits to motorists during this time. Authorities have urged commuters to take alternative routes to avoid inconvenience.

What's the reason for the closure?
According to the notification, the BDA is constructing additional ramps on the existing Hebbal flyover, specifically from KR Pura towards Mekhri Circle. As part of this upgrade, workers will install seven steel girders, each measuring 33.5 meters, across the railway track near the flyover.
To facilitate this, traffic movement on the flyover must be stopped during work hours to ensure public safety and smooth execution.
Traffic Diversion Details:
Vehicles from Esteem Mall towards Mekhri Circle will not be allowed on the flyover between 12 am and 3 am.
Alternative Route: Motorists coming from Kempegowda International Airport towards Mekhri Circle can:
Enter the service road near Esteem Mall,
Take a right turn at Hebbal Circle towards the Outer Ring Road,
Proceed towards Tumkur Road,
Take a left at Kuvempu Circle, and
Continue via New BEL Road to reach Mekhri Circle.
The traffic police have requested motorists to plan their travel accordingly and cooperate with authorities during this period.
