Bengaluru Traffic Alert: Bellandur Lake Road Closed For 60-Days

Commuters in Bengaluru, be prepared for traffic diversions as the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) initiates white-topping work on a major stretch within the HAL Airport Traffic Police limits. The road connecting Myntra Apartments and Bellandur Kodi on Devarabisanahalli-Sakra Hospital Main Road will be closed for all vehicles for the next 60 days, starting from November 5, 2024. This temporary closure is part of an effort to enhance road quality, but it will require drivers to take alternative routes.

Traffic Diversions and Alternative Routes

To ensure smoother traffic flow during the closure, Bengaluru Traffic Police have outlined several alternate routes:

  • Devarabisanahalli and Bellandur from Yamalur: Drivers from Yamalur should take Old Airport Road, pass through Yamalur Junction, Marathahalli Bridge, Kadubeesanahalli Bridge, and continue on Outer Ring Road.
  • To Kadubeesanahalli and Devarabisanahalli from Yamalur: Turn left at Yamalur Kodi, proceed via Old Airport Road and Yamalur Junction, pass through Yamalur Village, and follow Kariyammana Agrahara Road towards Kadubeesanahalli and Devarabisanahalli.
  • To Outer Ring Road from Yamalur: Take a right at Yamalur Kodi towards Bellandur Kodi via Old Airport Road, passing through Yamalur Junction and Yamalur Village, and continue to Outer Ring Road.
  • To the City from Devarabisanahalli and Bellandur: Drivers should turn left onto Outer Ring Road, proceed to Kadubeesanahalli Bridge, cross Marathahalli Bridge, and continue towards the city via Yamalur Junction.
  • To the City from Kadubeesanahalli and Devarabisanahalli: Turn right at Kariyammana Agrahara towards Yamalur Kodi, pass through Yamalur Village, and continue on Old Airport Road to reach the city.
  • From Outer Ring Road to the City: Vehicles should turn left at Bellandur Kodi, reach Yamalur Kodi, then take another left at Yamalur Junction to connect to Old Airport Road and head into the city.

The Bengaluru Traffic Police request the public's cooperation during this period to minimize inconvenience. The diversions aim to alleviate congestion and maintain smooth traffic flow in surrounding areas.

Commuters are encouraged to stay updated on traffic advisories and plan their routes in advance. The notice has been issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic East Division, Kuldeep Kumar R. Jain, IPS, urging citizens to cooperate during the white-topping work to facilitate the long-term improvement of road conditions.
