Bengaluru Traffic Advisory: Police Recommend Work From Home (WFH) For ORR Companies On August 14
Bengaluru's Outer Ring Road Companies Association (ORRCA), which represents technology parks, IT/ITeS companies, and software development and research centers along the city's tech corridor spanning 17 kilometers from KR Puram to Central Silk Board, has been advised by the Bengaluru Traffic Police to implement a work-from-home (WFH) policy for their employees on August 14, 2024.

Bengaluru Traffic Alert: Long weekend and Heavy Rainfall
In an official letter addressed to the association, M. N. Anucheth, IPS, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Bengaluru City, issued a traffic advisory highlighting the potential for severe traffic congestion on that day. The advisory cites an upcoming long weekend and predicted heavy rainfall as key factors likely to exacerbate traffic conditions.
The letter emphasizes the importance of the WFH measure to reduce the number of vehicles on the road, thereby minimizing disruptions and ensuring a smoother commute for those who must travel. The traffic police have requested ORRCA to inform member companies about the advisory and encourage them to allow employees to work remotely on August 14.
"This measure will not only reduce the number of vehicles on the road but also ensure a smoother commute for all those who need to travel," the letter reads. The police have expressed their appreciation for the cooperation and support from the companies in helping manage traffic effectively in Bengaluru.
The advisory comes as Bengaluru braces for potential traffic challenges, and the police are taking proactive steps to ensure the city's tech corridor remains as congestion-free as possible during the anticipated peak traffic period.
