Bengaluru to Be Linked With Hyderabad, Chennai, and Amaravati via Bullet Train

Chandrababu Naidu recently unveiled plans for a significant infrastructure project in South India. He announced that a bullet train will soon connect Hyderabad, Chennai, Amravati, and Bengaluru. This development aims to transform the region into a major logistical hub by enhancing connectivity and accessibility.

The chief minister shared his vision at the 'India Food Manufacturing Summit'. He highlighted that the bullet train will serve over five crore people across these four cities. "Very soon bullet train is going to come to South India. That is going to happen. Survey has been ordered. From Hyderabad, Chennai, Amaravati, Bangalore, all four cities, more than five crore population and the biggest market in the world," said Naidu.

Bullet Train Projects in India

India's first bullet train project between Mumbai and Ahmedabad is progressing rapidly. It is expected to be operational by 2026. This corridor spans over 500 km and will feature 12 world-class stations. The high-speed train will travel at 300 kmph on an elevated track with sections underground and under the sea.

Naidu also outlined plans to upgrade road infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh to international standards. This includes maintaining even remote roads with excellent quality. These improvements aim to boost logistics once the bullet train becomes operational.

In addition to Mumbai–Ahmedabad, several other bullet train projects are proposed across India. These projects aim to connect major business and tourist hubs nationwide in the coming years.

The ambitious infrastructure plans reflect a broader strategy to enhance connectivity in South India. By improving both rail and road networks, the region aims to become a key logistical centre.

The bullet train initiative is part of a larger effort to modernise transportation in India. With ongoing projects like Mumbai–Ahmedabad, the country is poised for significant advancements in high-speed rail travel.
