Bengaluru Techie Stabbed To Death By Lover In Hotel Room Over Her Attempt To Call Off Relationship

In a deeply disturbing case, a 33-year-old woman named Harini was allegedly murdered by her lover in a hotel room in Bengaluru.

The incident occurred late on Friday night but only came to light two days later, reported NDTV.

The accused has been identified as Yashas, a 25-year-old tech professional. Both Harini and Yashas were residents of Kengeri, a suburb in western Bengaluru.

The murder took place in an OYO hotel located in Poorna Prajna Layout, where Harini was fatally stabbed with a knife.

A case has been registered at the Subramanyapura Police Station and an investigation is currently underway.

"A murder was reported at Subramanyapura Police Station during the intervening night of June 6 and 7. The two had known each other for about a month. The woman had expressed a desire to end the relationship and was distancing herself from him. In a fit of anger and jealousy, the man stabbed her to death," said South Division DCP Lokesh B Jagalasar.

The accused has been taken into custody.

In a separate and equally horrifying incident, a 28-year-old man allegedly beheaded his wife and carried her severed head to a police station in Bengaluru's Anekal area.

The accused, identified as Shankar, reportedly killed his 26-year-old wife, Manasa, following a violent confrontation over her suspected extramarital affair.

Police sources said the couple had recently moved into a rented house in Heelalige village. On the night of 3 June, Shankar left for work, informing Manasa that he would return the following morning. However, he returned the same night and allegedly found Manasa with another man. After a heated altercation, Manasa is said to have left the house.

The conflict reportedly continued over the next few days. Enraged by what he described as ongoing harassment, Shankar is said to have beheaded Manasa and travelled to the Suryanagar Police Station with her severed head, where he surrendered.
