Bengaluru Techie Dies By Suicide Amid Marital Discord; Police Launch Probe
A 40-year-old tech professional in Bengaluru died by suicide on Sunday amid reported marital discord. The deceased, identified as Prashanth Nair, worked as a senior sales and marketing manager at Lenovo. He lived in the Chikkabanavara area with his wife, Pooja Nair, an employee at Dell, and their eight-year-old daughter.
According to police officials, the couple had been experiencing frequent disagreements and were reportedly contemplating divorce. However, family members had encouraged them to reconcile and remain together. When Prashanth failed to respond to multiple calls on Sunday, his father visited the residence and discovered him dead. No suicide note was found at the scene.

The Soladevanahalli Police have registered an Unnatural Death Report (UDR) and are continuing their investigation.
This incident is the latest in a series of distressing cases involving tech professionals in Bengaluru. In January this year, a 34-year-old techie from Uttar Pradesh, Atul Subhash, was found dead in his Bengaluru home. He left behind a 24-page note and a 1.5-hour-long video, in which he accused his estranged wife and her family of harassment and filing false cases against him. A placard reading "Justice is Due" was also found at the scene.
In another shocking case reported on March 28, a Bengaluru-based techie allegedly killed his wife, packed her body in a suitcase, and fled to Pune. The victim, 32-year-old Gauri Anil Sambekar, held a degree in mass media and communication but was unemployed. Her husband, Rakesh, worked as a project manager at Hitachi. Investigators indicated that the dispute arose from her inability to secure a job.
Authorities have expressed growing concern over the mental health and domestic challenges faced by professionals in the city.
