Bengaluru Techie Appeals For Job On Reddit After 2 Years Of Searching: 'Willing To Work Remotely, For Free'

A Bengaluru-based software engineer has made a heartfelt appeal for employment on social media, revealing that despite nearly two years of job hunting, he has been unable to secure a full-time position.

In a Reddit post titled "Burn my resume but please help," the 2023 graduate even offered to work for free in order to gain experience.

Bengaluru Techie Offers To Work For Free

"Hey everyone, I'm a 2023 graduate with a BE in Information Science and Engineering, and I'm currently struggling to land a job," he shared, posting a redacted version of his resume. His qualifications showcase expertise in Python, Java, DevOps, cloud computing, and machine learning, along with experience in building web crawlers, integrating APIs, and developing AI models.

"At this point, I am willing to work remotely, for free," he added, expressing that he was "desperate but eager to contribute and learn."

While looking for remote opportunities, he clarified that it was not his first preference. "Remote because my uncle had an accident, eight rib fractures, so I need to be here, but I can relocate too. Remote is a preference," he explained.

Several users have responded, offering job leads, requesting his CV, and recommending him for roles at their companies. Others have offered career advice to help him secure a position.

One user commented, "Bro, email me your CV. I work in a hiring firm."

Another wrote, "We can offer you WFH/Hybrid."

"Wishing you find a job soon, all the best," someone else wished.

Recently, a 32-year-old woman, who had also been job hunting for months, quit her new childcare job within 10 minutes, overwhelmed by the chaos of "screaming babies."

Despite her long job search, she quickly realised that the role wasn't right for her.

She had previously faced multiple rejections while applying to grocery stores and retail outlets. She acknowledged the difficulty of finding the right job but also said that desperation doesn't mean settling for anything.
